My husband and I arrived in Rome on a Thursday afternoon from Wisconsin, and our first dinner experience was at Ristorante Ad Hoc. We opted for the Roman-style cuisine tasting menu with wine pairings. The service was warm and welcoming, and the ambiance was quiet and romantic. I appreciated the decor, especially the various wine bottles displayed throughout, and I also liked the dishes the food was served on. That said, this restaurant leaned a little too "foodie" for my taste. I also discovered that I really dislike truffles! My husband, on the other hand, enjoyed everything--including my leftovers. The wines were fantastic across the board. I also want to mention the pricing was shockingly affordable for what we got at dinner, which again, included the wine pairing. If you consider yourself a foodie and enjoy creative, thoughtfully prepared dishes, Ristorante Ad Hoc is worth a visit.

Amazing food and service!! Each course was better than the next. Perfect for a special dinner out. My request for gluten free was essily accommodated with gluten free bread, pasta and more!

My daughter and I dined at their new location by the Circus Maximus in June. We each ordered the tasting menu (she had the Roman one and I had the seafood one) with wine. OMG! Each course was better than the next. If I could each there every night I would. People note that it is pricy, but we thought it was worth it - the quality of the food, the amount of food, the ambiance, the knowledge of the staff, and the friendliness of the staff. If you are visiting Rome, treat yourself to Ad Hoc!

Beautiful restaurant with excellent attentive service (Ermena was knowledgeable and engaging). The food was amazing and they kept bringing chef's additions to our table which were also excellent. We had a great family dinner here.

Absolutely fabulous! We were a party of four and we had reservations. We were seated promptly and greeted by enthusiastic team members all working together to make our dining experience the best it could be. Three in our party took advantage of the tasting menus - the special tasting menu that night was focused on truffles. Two of us opted to add the wine pairings to our tasting menu and the wines were excellent! When we first looked at the tasting menus we made the assumption that we would be choosing one of the three items in each course. Nope! Everything on the tasting menu was on our plates. The food was fantastic. Creative and tasty! The ambiance, aesthetic, and professionalism of the staff made the experience even better. The tiramisu was sublime - the best we had in our two weeks in Italy! As mentioned, we spent two weeks in Italy and Ad Hoc was absolutely one of the standout dining experiences! Highly recommended!!

favorite restaurant in italy so far! they gave us the best table in the house and a free bottle of wine to go to celebrate their 20 year anniversary. all the dishes were delicious and you must try a truffle dish.

We were in this gorgeous private room in the back. We're celebrating our besties birthday here in Rome. I wish I could give this place 10 stars. It is everything you ever imagined a dinner in a beautiful plaza in Rome could be. We were treated like family and taken care of like Royalty. The women that cared for us were just amazing. Bringing us complimentary wine, starters, pallet cleansers, and deserts. We were there 3 hours and it felt like one. We were pampered and impressed the whole time. The food...oh the food. Everything was fabulous. I am so lucky that we all like to share so I got to try everything I was willing to try. (I'm a little picky lol) I loved all of it. Every bit. There were no complaints from any of my companions. Only exclamations of delight all around. We all recommend this place. Get reservations ahead of time. It will be worth it.

I don't know if I can heap enough praise on this place in one review, but I'm going to try. I wanted to treat my family to a nice dinner while in Rome as a thank you for the trip and I found this place randomly searching for restaurants close to our hotel. This came up with glowing reviews and the menu looked perfect, so I made an advance reservation online. The glowing reviews are all legit. In fact, they aren't glowing enough. Three of us had tasting menus with wine pairings, one ordered a la carte. We were initially presented with the truffles that would become part of our dinner. Two of us opted for the black truffle tasting, one had sea. The truffles were something I've often wondered about and was delighted to try them this way. Each of our four courses were not only spectacularly delicious, but so beautifully presented. No detail overlooked. And I can't neglect to mention the OUTSTANDING service we received. Every person we interacted with was a delight. My brother is still talking about it over a week later and ranks it as one of his top 5 meals of all time. I concur.
